At Sword and Honey, we understand the challenges of helping children memorize the Bible. Memorizing can be especially hard for younger children who can't read yet.
Parents often feel overwhelmed and unsure of the best methods to help their children. That's why we've created a method and tools specifically designed to make Bible memorization easier and more effective.
Different children need different methods to learn and memorize. At Sword and Honey, we take that into consideration and equip you with methods for each learning style.
The Visual Learner
Visual learners learn through seeing. They recall visuals more easily than word
That's why we've designed pictures to accompany Scripture passages. Each verse or two has it's own picture to illustrate it. Flip through the flashcards while reciting the passage, and your visual learner will remember the remember the verses much more quickly because of the pictures.
In addition, the pictures on the flashcards match those on the coloring pages, creating a seamless learning experience. This way, children will associate the same image whether they are coloring or using the flashcards.
The Auditory Learner
Auditory learners learn by listening. This includes hearing others or even hearing themselves talking out loud.
We recommend that you talk through the passage you're trying to learn at least once a day with your children. As they start learning, they will chime in too!
The Reading/Writing Learner
These children learn by reading and writing.
Children who are old enough can read the verses on our flashcards and our coloring pages. They may also benefit by copying the verses onto another paper.
The Kinesthetic Learner
Kinesthetic learners learn by doing. They want to use muscle movements as they learn.
Our coloring pages provide a way for these children to incorporate movement into their learning process. It's also helpful to create motions to go with the verses and use the same motions every time.
Where to go from here?
Incorporate each of these methods into your practice each day. Color the coloring pages, flip through the picture flashcards, say the passage out loud, and have school-aged children copy the verses. Start using these Bible memorization tools today to give your child the best chance to learn and connect with Scripture.
Without the right tools, children may struggle to memorize Bible verses, leading to frustration and a disconnect from Scripture.
With Sword and Honey’s methods, children will successfully memorize Bible verses, feel confident in their knowledge, and build a lifelong connection with Scripture.
We're here to help your child hide God’s Word in their heart in the way that works best for them.
